Did you see me?

It's Erev Shabbos, and I'm standing in the local deli/grocery store/currency exchange/meeting place (Halak in Sha'arei Hesed, a fine establishment), and a fellow leans over to me asks if I was in Uman. I figure the truth is the best path, and let him know that I was. "I have a picture of you davening at the Ba'al Shem Tov's grave", he tells me...

Thank God for these holy meetings.

Wow, I got goosebumps. This reminds me of something that happened to me. I'll try to be brief.

I knew an annoying guy on Jdate (*smiling, this is true) from the chat rooms. So, he's seen my picture. He in NY, I in CA. I am visiting NY, rowing a boat in Central Park with my cousin and his girlfriend. We pull up to the side of the pond where a guy is playing acoustic music. Mind you we are in the boat, musician is on land with audience sitting on mounds of grass around him. We sit and listen for a while. I shoot a picture of the people playing music.

Later on, I'm in Jdate chat room (don't ask me why, it's a horrid place). And annoying guy asks me if I was in Central Park. First I think he is just goofing. Being that he knows I'm in NY, Central Park would be an easy guess. Then he asks if I was boating. Now I'm really curious. I have him describe what I was wearing, my cousin, etc. He tells me he was sitting watching that same musician.

I then go to the pics I took that day, ask the guy to describe to me what he was wearing. Lo and behold! He is in my photograph! We never did meet in person--but how odd.

Thanks for reminding me of this, one of my favorite, weird stories
